Marie Novello

The English pianist Marie Novello’s life and career were cut short by throat cancer in 1928 when she was only 30. She recorded extensively for Edison Bell’s “Velvet Face” and “The Winner” labels in the acoustic era, and made a few issued sides for HMV electrically. Her recordings have received few reissues. Her recorded repertoire was wide-ranging, including Mendelssohn’s 1st Piano Concerto.
