Wilfred Worden

The name of Wilfred Worden is pretty much forgotten now. After his fame as a boy pianist, he went on to compose one or two pieces of light music in the 1940s and 1950s. He was born around 1917, and can be seen as a fourteen year old in a Pathe newsreel from 1931. It appears that the Minute waltz was Worden’s show piece – both on the record given here and in the newsreel he gets through it in about 80 seconds.
