Alexander C Mackenzie

Sir Alexander C Mackenzie (22nd August 1847 – 28th April 1935), the Scottish composer, made 4 acoustic sides with the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra for the Gramophone Company, on 17th September 1916: London Day by Day: Under the clock; Colomba: Saltarello; The Little Minister – Overture; The Cricket on the Hearth, Overture. All received initial single side issues, then double sided with the first two issued together, the third backing Nikisch’s Figaro Overture, and the last coupled with Stanford conducting. These Columbias were his 2nd and final visit to the recording studio.
